Controls Engineer

Role Description

 This is a full-time, on-site role for a PLC Programmer at TDLogix Inc. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing PLC programs, conducting testing and debugging, maintaining and troubleshooting existing systems, and collaborating with the team and customers to enhance automation processes. The role is located in Orem, UT, with travel requirements around the United States, and involves hands-on work with control systems and automated equipment. 


Continued Growth: TDLogix puts a high priority in being experts in our field. On the job training is provided to assist in learning skills to be successful. We also participate in industry training courses on automation equipment, and dairy specific equipment that we sell and support.

Compensation

$70,000-$110,000 based on qualifications and experience

Essential Duties

  •  Interpret written instructions and develop PLC and HMI programs to written specifications.
  • Update other personal about needed drawing changes or process updates so existing drawings are updated. Provide timely and detailed status updates, as required.
  • PLC programming with Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 and RSLOGIX 500.
  • HMI programming with Factory Talk View Studio, Studio 5000 View Designer, and Weintek EBPRO.
  • Network setup and troubleshooting. Wireless and extended ethernet networks.
  • PID loop setup and troubleshooting.
  • Setup VFD’s and provide instructions for future reference.
  • Ability to learn and follow company programming standards
  • Assist in installation of Automation systems.
  • Quickly troubleshoot issues in the field whether it is within the PLC code or with field wiring.
  • Comply with the company safety procedures.
  • This position requires occasional in-state and out-of-state travel.
  • This position requires occasional on call work including nights and weekends.
  • Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline and professional competence.
  • Contributes to the overall success by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and developing PLC programs
  • Proficiency in testing and debugging PLC programs
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot existing systems
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering team to enhance automation processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently both at customer sites and in our office in Orem, UT
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automation & Electrical Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the dairy industry or similar farming environments is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Willingness to do overnight travel to dairy farms, training, and industry events.
  • Understanding that working in Agriculture sometimes means doing difficult things in a dirty environment and a willingness to get your hands and boots dirty to complete tasks. 

Electrical Automation Technician, Level 2

Role Description

This is a multifaceted position focused on installation and support of dairy farm automation equipment and PLC control systems.


Installation: Working with project planning team you will come up with installation plan that follows the functional requirements of the system, special requests from customer, and company quality and serviceability standards. Execute plan in a team setting or individually depending on project size and complexity. Gain understanding of system operation and component functions to enable future success in providing service and support on system.


Service: Provide ongoing service on dairy farm automation equipment according to required scheduled maintenance and on-call service for equipment failure.

Build: In accordance with TDLogix standards, industry standards, and according to engineering teams design, assemble PLC and motor control panels for customer projects.

Essential Duties

  • Interpret wire diagrams and follow written and verbal instructions to install automation equipment including PLC controls, VFD's, industrial controls, and other automation equipment.

  • Gain understanding of industry processes and needs to better help customers with automation solutions.
  • Comply with the company safety procedures.

  • Contributes to the overall success by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  

  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot existing systems

  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently both at customer sites and in our office in Orem, UT
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Automation      & Electrical Technology fields is helpful

                                              or 

                   Possession of a Journeyman or Master Electrical License.

  • Experience in the dairy industry or similar farming environments is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Office Manager/Bookkeeper

Role Description

This part-time position requires an estimated 25-32 hours of in-person work per week. Flexible start and end time allowing you to have other focuses and responsibilities outside of work during the day. Your focus will be on the organization and coordination of the financial and office needs within the company.

Compensation

$18.00 - 28.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

Essential Duties

  • Input AP/AR in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Prepare invoices for owner review.
  • Answer phone calls, provide needed information, and/or forward to the appropriate person.
  • Great those coming into office in a friendly and professional manner, assist them with the needs of their visit.
  • Assist in preparing shipments, scheduling pickup, receiving packages, tracking orders, etc.
  • Participate in required company meetings and take notes upon request.
  • Keep clean and organized work area.
  • Assist in overall cleanliness of office.
  • Send invoices and follow up on payments.
  • Comply with the company safety procedures.

  • Contributes to the overall success by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams a plus but we are willing to train.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Working on or having earned a degree in Finance, Business Management preferred but not required with the right experience. 
  • Experience in the dairy industry or similar farming environments is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
